A new committee of 'Gurudwara Management Committee Bangladesh' has been formed for the management of Sikh community's religious institutions, Gurudwaras. Shriman Amar Chand became the president of the new committee and Shriman Tapas Lal Chowdhury became the general secretary.
Last Friday (March 31) this new committee was announced by the chief patron of all Gurudwaras in Bangladesh, Sant Baba Sukha Singh Ji. He is the head of the Sikh community Karseva Sant Baba Tara Singh Ji of Sarhali Sahib, Tarn Taran district of Punjab province, India.
The new committee members are — MK Roy, Shyam Lal, Subhashis Das and Sumit Lal.
There are currently five Gurudwaras in the country. The headquarters of all the Gurudwaras is Gurudwara Nanakshahi located near Dhaka University.
